Porto will be confident of enhancing their Primeira Liga title credentials when Maritimo visit Estadio do Dragao on Sunday.

Maritimo find themselves ninth in the Portuguese top flight – 29 points behind Porto and only eight points clear of the bottom three.

On the flip side, Sergio Conceicao’s side are sitting pretty in first place – six points clear of second-place Sporting.

Porto have yet to lose a single Primeira Liga game this season, picking up 17 wins and two draws in 19 outings.

Not only are they the second-highest scorers in the Portuguese top tier, but they also boast the second-best defensive record in the division.

Thanks to a phenomenal end to the previous campaign, the Dragons are currently enjoying a 47-game in the Primeira Liga.

It is also worth noting that Porto have won each of their previous 14 league matches, keeping five clean sheets along the way.

Better still, the Dragons have scored over 2.5 goals in each of their past five Primeira Liga clashes, netting over 3.5 goals on two occasions during that period.

As for Maritimo, they have only managed to win six of their 19 league matches this season – recording six draws and seven losses along the way.

Having netted 24 goals this term, Vasco Seabra’s men are among the lowest scorers in the Portuguese top flight.

It is worth pointing out that Maritimo head into Sunday’s clash on a four-match unbeaten streak, having picking up three wins and a draw since their last loss.

That said, they will almost certainly struggle to extend their unbeaten streak against the unstoppable force of Porto.

Head-to-head: Across the past 47 meetings between the two sides, Maritimo have managed to claim just seven wins over Porto – suffering 31 defeats.

More recently, Maritimo have won just one of their previous 12 meetings with Porto across all competitions.

Team news: Porto will be without long-term injury absentees Wilson Manafa (patella rupture) and Ivan Marcano (foot surgery) on Sunday.

Maritimo could be without as many as six players due to COVID-19. Meanwhile, Xadas and Miguel Silva are both injured.

Although Maritimo are enjoying a positive run at the moment, there is no stopping Porto right now. The hosts should extend their unbeaten streak without any problems on Sunday.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Porto will score over 1.5 goals on their way to dispatching Maritimo.
