Real Sociedad will welcome Getafe to the Reale Arena this weekend as two sides at either end of the table meet in a must-win clash if they are to keep up their respective aims for this season.
The home side are currently sat in fifth in La Liga, and while this is a massive difference to their early title charge in the season, there is still great hope of landing in the top four and closing the gap on the likes of Atletico Madrid and Real Betis, with the top two seemingly too far away now.
Imanol Alguacil's men are still level on points with fourth-placed champions Atletico, and a point ahead of Barcelona. If you had asked Sociedad fans if they would have taken this position come January at the start of the season, they probably would have.
In fact, the only real reason they don’t sit in the Champions League spots is because of Betis’ exceptional season.
At the same time, the goals have been coming in and going in at a slow rate for San Sebastian outfit, with only 22 goals scored coming for them as they have also let in just 21.
Although not a bad record, it does seem like a good result follows a bad one with Sociedad, and they can’t seem to find much consistency.
On the other hand, the club did manage to beat Atletico in the Copa del Rey last time out, just as they came off the back of beating Leganes 3-2 and Zamora 3-0 in the competition.
Back in the league, however, it's just one win in the past seven for them as they've lost to the likes of Real Madrid and Betis.
Getafe, though, are still fighting relegation and likely will for most of the season. A fantastic 4-2 victory over Granada threw them four points away from the drop zone, but it still leaves them with just 17 goals scored and without a game in hand on those below them.
However, it isn't too long since they beat leaders Real in La Liga 1-0, but this was followed by a 1-0 loss to Sevilla, and at the same time, this period last month was when they lost 5-0 to third tier Atletico Baleares in the Copa del Rey.
Getafe may have had a convincing win last time around, but the goals just keep on flying in for them at the wrong end. Forebet predicts they will lose here again as Sociedad begin to chip away at the top four again, with this game expected to see under 2.5 goals.
