Juventus’ Rise Set to Continue With a Win Over Udinese

Juventus will look to continue their incredible rise up the Serie A table this weekend as they clash with a Udinese side still fighting for their life in the Italian top flight as they sit just above the relegation zone.

The Old Lady have had a bizarre season in 2021/22. Their absolutely torrid first few months to the new campaign saw them drop as low as 10th in the table after a chunk of games and with Max Allegri having to fight for his job after just a few games following his dramatic return to the club.

A bit of a spark in league form would soon come, and their excellent displays in the Champions League would happen during this time too as Allegri managed to finish first in their Champions League group, and even ahead of European champions, Chelsea.

Soon after, weak performances occurred again in December, but as of now, Juventus have reignited their hopes for a Champions League spot, although they do have serious work to overcome the forces of Atalanta, Napoli, and the Milan outfits.

Juventus are now three points off the fourth-placed Atlanta, and in reality, their 11-point gap on Inter Milan, plus their further game played all but ends their hopes of regaining the Serie A title for this season.

Moreover, Allegri’s men slumped back into their woes last time out. The Supercoppa Italiana final against Inter went right to the wire as Weston McKennie scored again for the Old Lady to give them a 1-0 lead.

However, with seconds left in extra time, Alexis Sanchez scored for the league leaders to hand them the first trophy of the season as Juventus were rapidly brought back down to earth.

The main issue for the Serie A serial winners has been their lack of goals scored since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, and there seems to be no immediate fix for this. Their 32 goals in Serie A is less than sides like 13th-placed Hellas Verona.

As for Udinese, they are languishing just four points above the drop zone, but their two games in hand here give them a bit of breathing space. On the other hand, with 34 goals conceded, they remain one of Serie A's worst defensive sides and even the lack of goals in Juventus’ team will make them pay for this.

Forebet expects the fifth-placed side to continue to warn Serie A of their recent rise and get the win here in a game that sees under 2.5 goals.
