Defeats Still Expected for Cagliari as Torino Distance Themselves From Relegation

Cagliari will welcome Torino to Sardegna Arena this weekend as the home side look to finally establish themselves in the league this season and jump out of the relegation zone while the Turin outfit aim to move further away from the bottom three once more.

Early on in the season, Torino were alongside Cagliari down towards the bottom but one has since picked up form while the other has slumped into the drop zone and struggle to get a mere point here and there.

In fact, the home outfit here have won just one game all season long as they managed to beat fellow strugglers Sampdoria back in mid-October, which remains the only time they've scored more than two goals in a game this campaign as well as their only win.

Joao Pedro netted twice as Martin Caceres bagged that day in a 3-1 win, but goals have since dried up slightly for the forward Pedro.

It has still been a magnificent season for the Brazilian, who now has eight goals in 13 Serie A games already following his penalty against Sassuolo. Now, Pedro remains their most likely route to picking up any points still and their best chance to get out of the relegation zone.

Moreover, with Cagliari only managing to score 16 goals in the league so far this season, Pedro has scored 50% of the club’s league goals this campaign, which although impressive, as a club, is alarming.

The Sardinia side now have only nine goals in the league and with their one win in the league, their other six points have come through draws as they've managed to lose eight times - this is the second-most in the Serie A this campaign.

Recently, Cagliari still couldn’t get a win as they drew 0-0 with Hellas Verona as they saw very few chances and little of the ball once again.

Torino are coming off the back of another draw too, as Tommaso Pobega and Marko Pjaca's early goals were enough to only take a draw from the in-form Empoli.

Wilfried Singo was sent off in the first half there too, which was all but the main reason Torino were unable to see the game out for three points, and he now misses this game with Cagliari.

Given Torino’s five wins and 19 goals being much more superior to their opponents’, Forebet predicts they will win here in a game that will see under 2.5 goals as the Turin outfit move closer to the top 10.
