Norwich could pick up rare point when fellow strugglers Leeds visit Carrow Road

Two sides in desperate need of points go head-to-head at Carrow Road on Sunday, as winless Norwich City host Leeds United in the Premier League.

Norwich find themselves rock bottom of the table, having taken just two points from a possible 27 this season.

Leeds aren’t doing much better, though. They currently sit fourth from bottom – five points ahead of Norwich – after winning one of their opening nine games.

The Canaries kicked off their campaign with six straight losses, falling to Liverpool, Manchester City, Leicester, Arsenal, Watford and Everton.

Back-to-back goalless draws with Burnley and Brighton pointed towards an upturn in form, but any hopes of a revival were dashed last weekend.

Daniel Farke’s were thrashed 7-0 by Chelsea last time out, meaning they have now conceded 23 goals in nine league games this term (2.55 goals per game).

Not only do Norwich have the worst defensive record in the division, but they are also the lowest scorers, having netted a measly two goals this season (0.22 goals per game).

To further underline their recent struggles, it is worth noting that Norwich have only managed to win one of their last 12 encounters in all competitions.

Just like Norwich, Leeds made a poor start to the season – failing to win any of their opening six league matches.

Following three draws and three losses, Marcelo Bielsa’s side claimed their only win of the campaign against Watford on Matchday 7.

Since then, however, they have lost to Southampton and drawn with Wolves, as well as lost to Arsenal in the EFL Cup.

Leeds have now failed to score in each of their previous three away games across all competitions, emphasising their struggles in attack.

In fact, only two teams in the Premier League – Norwich and Burnley – have netted fewer goals than Bielsa’s boys this season.

Head-to-head: Norwich and Leeds have both claimed two wins in the previous four meetings between the teams.

It is also worth noting that five of the last six encounters between Norwich and Leeds have produced over 2.5 goals.

Team news: Norwich duo Christoph Zimmermann and Sam Byram remain sidelined through injury, while Ben Gibson is suspended.

Meanwhile, Leeds will be without the injured quartet of Robin Koch, Luke Ayling, Junior Firpo and Patrick Bamford on Sunday.

Given that Norwich and Leeds have made a poor start to the season, both sides will be eager to avoid defeat on Sunday.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Norwich and Leeds will play out a cautious, low-scoring draw at Carrow Road.
