West Ham United and Manchester City will be hoping to extend their respective hot streaks when they go head-to-head at the London Stadium in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.

Just three points separate the two sides in the Premier League table, with third-place Man City sitting just ahead of fourth-place West Ham.

The Hammers have won each of their past three games across all competitions, beating Everton, Genk and Tottenham without conceding a single goal.

In fact, David Moyes’ men have won six of their previous seven outings – picking up victories in the Premier League, Europa League and EFL Cup.

West Ham booked their spot in the last 16 with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford last month, despite seeing just 39% of the ball.

Michail Antonio has played a key role in West Ham’s recent rise, bagging six goals and four assists in ten appearances across all competitions this term.

It goes without saying that he will need to be at the very top of his game if the Hammers want to get the better of Man City on Wednesday.

As for Man City, they thrashed Brighton 4-1 last time out. Phil Foden bagged a brace, while Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez also scored.

Guardiola's men chalked up a whopping 23 shots at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, 14 of which were on target.

The Cityzens have now won each of their previous three games in all competitions. After beating Burnley, they crushed Club Brugge 5-1 in the Champions League before seeing off Brighton.

When you look at the bigger picture, Man City have lost just one of their previous 12 outings – picking up nine wins and two draws along the way.

Man City have scored 20 goals in nine league games this term (2.2 goals per game) while conceding just four at the other end of the pitch (0.4 goals per game).

Head-to-head: West Ham haven’t beaten Man City since 2015. Since then, City have secured 11 wins and two draws in this fixture.

Guardiola’s side have won 11 of their last 12 games against the Hammers in all competitions, scoring over 2.5 goals on seven occasions in that time.

Team news: There are still doubts over West Ham duo Vladimir Coufal (groin) and Alex Kral (coronavirus), so they could miss Wednesday’s clash.

Raheem Sterling (back) is an injury doubt for Man City, while Ferran Torres (foot) will be sidelined for a few months.

Although the Hammers are enjoying an excellent run at the moment, Man City should prove to be far too strong for the hosts on Wednesday.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score at the London Stadium. However, Guardiola’s side are expected to outscore West Ham and advance to the next round.
