Another Draw in the Primeira Liga Expected as Gil Vicente Host Sporting Braga

The action continues in the Primeira Liga this weekend in what is turning out to be an exceptionally close division this campaign as Gil Vicente play hosts to Sporting Braga as the two look to break the gap on the top six right now.

Unsurprisingly, the ‘Big Three’ in Portugal have created a bridge on the rest of the division already as Porto sit second with Benfica in first place, while the champions Sporting Lisbon remain unbeaten but sit in third spot by goal difference.

Braga have slowly chipped away at the three big clubs in Portugal over the past few seasons, but with them sitting behind Portimonense and Estoril Praia in sixth right now, it looks like a long season in store for them as they attempt to get back into Europe.

As of now, Braga are sat in sixth with three wins and four draws, which does mean they have only managed to lose one game so far and all of that bodes well in a division where only three points is separating the team in seventh and the team in 14th just outside of the drop zone.

With this in mind, Braga need to win here as they can’t really afford to slip any further away in what is already turning out to be a pretty tight league table and they must keep up this brilliant unbeaten form right now.

In fact, Braga haven’t tasted defeat since losing to Red Star Belgrade over a month ago, while their last domestic loss was to the champions Lisbon back on the second day of the season.

They have since managed to win their next two Europa League clashes and register three more wins in the league.

The club have witnessed a lot of draws, however, and it’s tough to see the game going any other way than a tight draw.

With this in mind, Vicente sit in ninth and are currently coming off the back of a 5-0 thrashing over Condeixa and a 2-2 draw with Praia, both of which can be seen as positives.

The club are currently sat in ninth and have only won two of their eight games, while they have seen 10 goals go in their own goal, just as they’ve managed to bag 10 of their.

Ultimately, this sums up their season so far as they sit in mid-table.

Forebet predicts another draw here as not much seems to separate either side right now, and Forebet also predicts the game to see under 2.5 goals.
