On Thursday night, West Ham host Racing Genk at the London Stadium, as the home team looks to continue their perfect start in Group H of the Europa League.

West Ham head into this clash after a 1-0 win at injury-hit Everton on Sunday afternoon. The win over the Toffees continued a strong run of form for David Moyes team of late, as the Irons have now won four of their previous five matches in all competitions.

The Irons have also made a positive start to their Europa League campaign by winning both of their Group H games.

They opened with a 2-0 win at Dinamo Zagreb before a 2-0 home win over Rapid Vienna. The victories have put the Hammers in a comfortable position going into gameweek three.

This season’s team have certainly performed better than previous editions of the Hammers teams in the Europa League.

Before this season the team from the east end of London had won just once in their previous six matches in the competition.

Genk are in poor form heading into this difficult clash, as they have lost four of their previous five matches in all competitions.

What makes those defeats even more painful is that the Belgian outfit has also conceded at least two goals in all four of the recent defeats.

At least the visitors kicked off their Europa League campaign with a win, as they recorded a 1-0 victory at Rapid Vienna. However, last time out in the competition they lost 3-0 at home against Dinamo Zagreb.

Despite their poor recent form, John van den Brom’s team are still in with a chance of qualifying for the last-32 of the competition.

Considering that Genk have won just two of their previous seven matches in the Europa League, qualification seems unlikely.

Forebet predicts that West Ham will record a victory in a high-scoring encounter to cement their spot at the top of Group H.
