PSG to Build on Manchester City Victory with Win Over Leipzig

The third round of Champions League group fixtures will be played this week and on Tuesday the 19th of October we have a meeting between Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig.
The game will take place at the Parc des Princes with the hosts sitting top of Group A on 4 points and the visitors bottom of the group and yet to get off the mark.
PSG started their Champions League campaign with a disappointing 1-1 draw at Club Brugge. It was a game they were expected to win but PSG could not hold on to their lead having opened the scoring after 15 minutes.
The Belgian club struck back 12 minutes later with the equalising goal and PSG could not force the winner in the time that remained.
However, PSG kick-started their 2021/22 Champions League season with a good 2-0 home win over Manchester City. Idrissa Gueye scored the opening goals after only 8 minutes and having survived some Manchester City pressure, Lionel Messi scored a wonderful goal to seal maximum points for his new club.
PSG come into this game on the back of a narrow 2-1 home win over Angers in Ligue 1 on the weekend. That result keeps them well clear at the top of the table in France and should allow them to focus on winning the Champions League this season.

RB Leipzig have made a poor start to the Champions League this season having lost 6-3 at Manchester City and 2-1 at home against Club Brugge. The defeat at Manchester City was expected but to concede 6 goals was a massive disappointment.
However, it was the 2-1 loss at home against Club Brugge that could prove costly come the end of the group stage in terms of qualification.
RB Leipzig opened the scoring against Club Brugge after only 5 minutes but found themselves 2-1 down before half time and failed to find the back of the net in the second half.
RB Leipzig have lost each of their last 4 Champions League matches and have been defeated in 4 of their last 5 on the road. However, they did manage to restrict PSG to one goal in their meeting in 2020.
Team news and PSG will be without the suspended Ángel Di María. Lionel Messi, Neymar, Marquinhos and Leandro Paredes missed out on the weekend because of international duty but should return for this match. Keylor Navas and Sergio Ramos are doubts.
RB Leipzig travel to the French capital without the injured duo of Dani Olmo and Marcel Halstenberg. Nordi Mukiele and Kevin Kampl should both be available.
PSG are the clear favourites to take maximum points but they struggled to score goals against RB Leipzig last year and the same could apply this season. The German club will be keen to keep things tight following the 6 goals at Manchester City and this could be a narrow 1-0 win for PSG.
