Espanyol go into matchday 9 of the La Liga season with nine points from 24 points on offer this season. The Barcelona-based club is 13th in the league and two points ahead of 15th-place Cadiz.

Manager Vincente Moreno’s Espanyol are coming off of a 2-1 win at home against Real Madrid. It was a shock result that could spur Espanyol onto improvements this season. Espanyol are in their first season back in La Liga after receiving promotion at the end of 2020-21.

Cadiz are up next for Espanyol. The Yellow Submarine have taken seven points from 24 points on offer this term. Cadiz drew nil-nil against Valencia last time out and will fancy their chances against a newly-promoted side.

Espanyol have taken seven of their nine points this season at the RCDE Stadium in Barcelona. They have outscored opponents 4-3 at home this term and have won back-to-back games in La Liga at the RCDE Stadium. Those wins came against Alaves and Real Madrid.

Cadiz have taken four of their seven points on the road this term. The Yellow Submarine are –1 in goal difference on their travels. They have scored four times and conceded five goals to opponents away from Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla.

Alvaro Cervera’s Cadiz team is without Jon Ander Garrido. The defender has a tendon injury and is ruled out until November.

Moreno could be without up to four players for the game. Defenders Miguelon and Fernando Calero are doubts for the game due to injuries. Miguelon has a knock and Calero is carrying a musle strain.

Espanyol forward Javi Puado is a doubt due to a muscle injury. Midfielder Yangel Herrera is recovering from a broken leg. He may not be fully fit for the game.

The Barcelona-based club is led in goals by Raul de Tomas. The former Real Madrid man has three goals and an assist this term. Aleix Vidal has added two goals to the Espanyol cause.

Cadiz are led in goals by the duo of Alfonso Espino and Alex Fernandez. The duo has scored two goals apiece.

Espanyol have conceded just eight times this season and their home defensive play should see them to a win. The Blue and White should claim a third straight home win while keeping a clean sheet versus Cadiz.

The game should feature under 2.5 goals scored with Cadiz unable to score for a third time in five games in La Liga.
