Seattle Sounders to Edge a Tight Game Over Colorado Rapids in the Western Conference

Two of the MLS giants and most in-form sides will meet in the Western Conference this weekend as the Colorado Rapid travel to Seattle to meet with the Seattle Sounders as both of them look to finish top of the table out West.
As has been the case in many of the recent seasons in the MLS, the Sounders are sitting top of the tree in the Western table and have been absolutely excellent all season long and once again proved themselves as the team to watch in their division.
Brian Schmetzer’s men have won their last two games 2-1 over Sporting Kansas City and 3-1 over the San Jose Earthquakes, and this now puts them on 15 wins from 26 games and top of the division too.
On the other hand, this lead at the summit of the Western Conference is just two points over Kansas City, and as a result, that win in itself is one of the most notable of the whole MLS season.
Elsewhere, the Rapids are right on their trail too and the gap is just three points between the two sides meeting this weekend, making it arguably the biggest game of the 2021 campaign.
The Colorado side can move to first position out West if they beat the Sounders, but it must be by a scoreline of 6-0 or more as the goal difference is far greater for the home side here and it is near enough impossible to see them winning by this margin on away turf.
What could happen, however, is if Seattle do lose and Kansas City win, they will go back to the top of the table and throw a spanner in the works in what is a fantastic MLS season in the Western Conference.
It is no doubt going to be a very close game here and while both have all but guaranteed their spots in the playoffs, they will want to finish as high as possible with some serious momentum coming from sides in the Eastern Conference too.
On the other hand, it does seem as if the Sounders’ form is too great for the Rapids to deal with and they really are the ones to watch for the MLS Cup once more and they could make it two trophies in four years in this regard over the coming months.
Forebet predicts a close game here because the Colorado side really have upped their ability this campaign and made it tough to beat them.
However, a game of over 2.5 goals should come and Forebet predicts the Sounders to win also.
