Torino will welcome Juventus to the Olympic Grande Torino Stadium for the first Turin derby of the season as the two sides look to propel themselves out of their mid-table slumps as the Maroons look to get their first win over Juventus in six years.

As has usually been the case since the 1930s when Juventus started to win titles, the Turin derby has been dominated by the Old Lady with their superior finances, players, and overall structure.

However, with six games gone, a Cristiano Ronaldo-less Juventus are feeling the effects of drastic changes at the club this past summer.

Now, in the early stages of the 2021/22 Serie A season, the Maroons could well be on course for their first win in this derby since 2015 and their first three points over Juventus in such a period would be just second in 18 years. In general, it’s been an absolutely horrific time for Torino in this fixture.

However, Juventus sit 10th and Torino are just ahead of them in ninth with both experiencing tough starts to the season so far, which keeps this Derby della Mole wide open.

A ninth spot for the home side right now isn’t the worst, but for Juventus, it’s nothing short of a complete disaster.

Under the leadership of Max Allegri prior to him returning to the helm, the Old Lady would win title after title and get to Champions League finals too, but with him back at the club, the Turin outfit have won just two league games all season.

Ahead of the game, Allegri’s men have let in 10 goals and scored 10, which just about sums up how poor they have been in this campaign so far.

On the other hand, they haven’t tasted defeat since just after the international break and in their past five games.

Wins over Sampdoria, Spezia, Malmo, a draw with the in-form AC Milan and most recently, a victory over the European champions Chelsea, has all equalled to positive form once again for Juventus.

As for Torino, their record isn’t too different. The club have let in only six goals and scored nine, but after drawing with Venezia and Lazio recently, they are struggling right now and have consequently dropped down the table.

Forebet predicts a close game here, given the form of either side so far. Torino may get some success during the game for a change, but Forebet predicts a game of over 2.5 goals and a draw here.
