Granada and Celta Vigo to meet in La Liga six-point affair on MD 7

Granada are winless in La Liga this season and are mired in the bottom three after six games. Celta Vigo are just outside the relegation zone following their first league win of the season in midweek.

Monday night’s game at the Balaidos is a massive six-point affair between these sides. A win would send one of these teams higher up the table and more importantly give them some momentum.

Granada are coming off of a 3-2 loss to Real Sociedad at home. Real Sociedad came from behind to get the win. Robert Moreno’s team has conceded 11 goals in six league matches while scoring just five times.

Celta Vigo are coming off of a first win of the campaign against Levante 2-0. The Sky Blues have scored just six goals and conceded 10 this term. Celta Vigo are playing at home and have lost all three games at the Balaidos this term.

Eduardo Coudet has watched the side concede five times at home and score twice. Opposing manager Moreno’s team has taken two points from nine on the road. Granada’s most recent away fixture against Barcelona finished in a 1-1 draw.

The draw with Barcelona saw Granada score their first goal of the new season on the road. Meanwhile, Los Rojiblancos have conceded five times.

Coudet has no new injury issues going into the game. He will have a full squad to select from for the game. Striker Iago Aspas could play a big part in the game. Aspas has two goals this season. Santi Mina has added two goals to the team’s case.

Granada manager Moreno has Yan Brice and Neydar Lozano on the team’s injury list. Brice is ruled out until October and Lozano does not have a timeline on being back following a skull fracture.

The home team is unbeaten in the last three games between these clubs. Two of those three games ended in draws. Celta Vigo took four points from Granada last season in two La Liga matches.

Three of the last four games in La Liga between these sides have ended with under 2.5 goals scored. Neither side is proficient in the final third this season.

The game should end with under 2.5 goals scored as both teams find the back of the net.

The La Liga relegation-threatened teams should claim a draw in a low scoring draw at Balaidos. It will be a missed chance for both sides to get all three points.
