The English Premier League returns on the weekend and there are several fixtures to be played on Saturday including the meeting between Everton and Norwich City.

The match will be played at Goodison Park and the hosts will begin the weekend in 6th place on 10 points and the visitors bottom of the table, without a point to their name.

Everton come into the game on the back of a disappointing defeat in the League Cup on Tuesday night. The Toffees face Queens Park Rangers of the Championship away from home and the match ended 2-2, with Everton going on to lose the penalty shootout. Everton were forced to twice come from behind inside the 90 minutes but could not force a winner.

That result means Everton have lost each of their last 2 matches in all competitions, including a 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa last weekend in the Premier League. That was a hugely disappointing result and performance, especially as Everton had made a decent start to the league season.

Trends show there have been 3 consecutive home wins in all competitions for Everton and they are undefeated in 5 of their last 7 home Premier League fixtures.

Both teams have scored in each of their 2 home Premier League games this season and Everton have seen over 2.5 goals in their last 3 matches in all competitions.

Norwich City make the trip to Goodison Park having previously lost 3-0 to Everton’s local rivals, Liverpool, in the League Cup on Tuesday night.

The Canaries found themselves 1-0 down after only 4 minutes of the game and missed an opportunity to get back into the match from the penalty spot. Liverpool added a second goal 5 minutes into to the second half and the result was put beyond doubt with their third 10 minutes from time.

That result means Norwich City have lost each of their last 4 matches in all competitions and have yet to pick up a point in the Premier League this season.

Norwich City have lost all 5 of their Premier League games but the fixture list has been unkind, with matches against Liverpool, Manchester City, Leicester City, and Arsenal.

However, the 3-1 defeat at home against Watford last weekend was disappointing.

Trends show Norwich City have seen over 2.5 goals in 4 of their 5 Premier League games this season.

Team news and Everton have injury problems in attack with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison both injured. First choice goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is also unavailable plus James Rodriguez is a doubt.

Norwich City continue without the injured trio of Christoph Zimmermann, Przemyslaw Placheta, and Sam Byram but will be hoping attacking midfielder Todd Cantwell is available.

Everton suffered a couple of disappointments last week but will see this as the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways.

Norwich City have struggled in the Premier League and that is set to continue as we expect to see Everton come out on top, with both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals.
