Two heavyweights of Italian football clash in Serie A this weekend as struggling Juventus welcome high-flying AC Milan to Turin on Sunday night.

Milan have won all three of their Serie A games this season and find themselves second in the table as a result.

At the opposite end of the standings, Juventus sit sixteenth after failing to win any of their opening three league matches.

It’s fair to say that Max Allegri’s return to Turin hasn’t gone to plan, with Juventus recording one draw and two losses in three Serie A outings.

Following a 2-2 draw with Udinese on the opening weekend, the Old Lady lost 1-0 to newly-promoted Empoli before going down 2-1 to Napoli.

They managed to picked up their first win of the season in midweek, however, beating Malmo 3-0 in the Champions League.

Allegri’s men enjoyed 61% possession in Sweden and also notched 16 shots, with first-half goals from Alex Sandro, Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata sealing the deal.

It goes without saying that Juventus will be eager to pick up where they left off on Tuesday, having made a dismal start to their Serie A campaign.

By contrast, AC Milan are one of only three teams – along with Roma and Napoli – to still boast a 100% record in the Italian top tier.

Milan have already beaten Sampdoria, Cagliari and Lazio this season, netting four of their seven goals in a 4-1 rout on Matchday 2.

It is also worth pointing out that Milan have only conceded one goal in three Serie A games this term, giving them the best defensive record in the league.

Better still, Milan have only lost two of their previous 20 away games in Serie A – building on a positive end to last season.

Stefano Pioli’s men did lose to Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday, though, throwing away a 2-1 lead to lose 3-2.

Head-to-head: The recent head-to-head record between Juventus and Milan is even, with both teams winning two of their last six meetings. The other two matches were drawn.

The previous three encounters have produced a combined total of 13 goals (4.33 goals per game), so we are set for a high-scoring affair on Sunday.

Team news: Juventus will be without injured quartet Arthur, Kaio Jorge, Federico Chiesa and Juan Cuadrado this weekend.

As for Milan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is likely to miss Sunday’s clash, having been ruled out of the midweek trip to Liverpool.

Considering the manner with which Juventus have started the season, Milan will be confident of securing their fourth straight Serie A win this weekend.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Milan will edge out Juventus in Turin, although both teams are likely to score.
