There’s action from the Brazilian top flight on Monday night and features the clash between 3rd placed Fortaleza and 14th placed visitors, Cuiaba, as the two teams meet at the Estádio Governador Plácido Aderaldo Castelo.
Fortaleza have produced some solid displays in recent times in the Brazilian top flight as the hosts have suffered only the one defeat out of their last eight matches, and indeed just three losses from their previous 17 matches overall in the Brazilian Serie A, all of which were defeats away from home.
Nine wins within these 17 matches overall along with a solid run of results on home turf which has seen Fortaleza unbeaten in their last eight games (including six wins), should give the hosts the edge here on Monday night.
The bigger picture shows that Fortaleza have suffered just one defeat out of their last 14 games at home which includes nine wins along with keeping a total of eight clean sheets into the bargain as well.
Cuiaba find themselves sitting in the bottom half of the Brazilian Serie A in 14th place after some inconsistent results of late as the visitors have won just two of their last six games overall in the domestic top flight.
The visitors have also lost twice, to Corinthians and Gremio (both of which were at home), along with drawing twice as well, with draws against Internacional and Bahia, so the prospects of an away win here do seem slim.
However, Cuiaba have been pretty solid away from home as the visitors have lost just once on the road so far this season but their results have been dominated by draws with the visitors being involved in no fewer than five draws within their eight away games to date.
Cuiaba have also failed to score in four of their eight away games so far this term and being up against a Fortaleza side who have scored 17 goals in their eight home games to date, this could spell trouble for Cuiaba in Monday night’s clash.
Fortaleza have scored in each of their eight home games so far this campaign and the hosts have also kept four clean sheets too, while the hosts have also won five out of their last six meetings at home against Cuiaba and the hosts look set for further success here.
