The top two sides in Copa America Group B good head-to-head on Thursday, with Brazil hosting Colombia in Rio de Janeiro.

Colombia sit second in the standings after taking four points from their opening three matches at the 2021 Copa America.

Meanwhile, the Brazilians find themselves two point clear of Colombia following back-to-back wins over Venezuela and Peru.

Brazil kicked off their campaign with a 3-0 victory against Venezuela, with goals from Marquinhos, Neymar and Gabriel Barbosa.

Neymar got on the scoresheet again as Brazil thrashed Peru last time out, while Alex Sandro, Everton Ribeiro and Richarlison also found the back of the net.

Following Friday’s demolition of the Peruvians, Brazil have now won each of their previous nine matches in all competitions.

They have also kept eight clean sheets during that period and have only conceded two goals in their last nine games.

Better still, Tite’s men have netted a combined total of 23 goals across their nine-match winning streak – averaging just over 2.5 goals per game in that time.

Despite having played one game more than Brazil, Colombia currently find themselves two points behind the frontrunners.

The Colombians began the tournament with a 1-0 win over Ecuador before being held to a goalless draw by Venezuela.

Last time out, they were beaten 2-1 by Peru, despite enjoying 59% possession and racking up 12 shots (four on target).

Looking at the bigger picture, Colombia have only managed to pick up two wins in their previous eight matches in all competitions.

Having recorded three draws and three losses along the way, it’s fair to say that Colombia are not at their best at the moment.

Head-to-head: Brazil and Colombia have faced each other 32 times over the years. Interestingly, Colombia have only beaten Brazil three times.

Brazil have only lost one of their last 19 meetings with Colombia and head into Thursday’s clash on a four-game unbeaten streak in this fixture.

Team news: Ederson, Fabinho and Thiago Silva all came into Brazil’s starting XI for the previous match, and Tite is expected to rotate again on Thursday.

As for Colombia, Rueda could be tempted to start Luis Muriel after another disappointing attacking performance last time out.

When you consider the manner with which Brazil have started the tournament, it is difficult to imagine Colombia getting anything from Thursday’s clash.

Forebet predicts that Brazil will keep yet another clean sheet on their way to dispatching the Colombians in Rio.
