Flamengo are on a 14-game unbeaten streak in all competitions heading into matchday 3 of the Serie A season.
America MG have played 21 times in all competitions posting a record of 10W-6D-5L. They have scored 26 goals and allowed 16. The team played well in the Mineiro state tournament, but have not translated that form over to the Serie A campaign.

Flamengo player Giorgian de Arrascaeta test positive for COVID-19 and may not be fit to play at the weekend. Goalie Cesar is ruled out until October with a knee injury. Midfielder Thiago Maia is ruled out until mid-August with a knee ligament issue.
Ceni will expect Flamengo to once again challenge for the league title in 2021. They now have a game in hand, which could turn out to be a blessing in disguise for the club. Flamengo have scored two goals against America MG in their last two matches.
Flamengo should continue their good form versus America MG with a victory on Sunday. Like their last meeting in 2018, the teams should combine for more than 2.5 goals and both teams should find the back of the net.
America MG have had a poor start to the campaign which should continue this weekend. They have seen each of their last six matches end without a victory.
America MG did claim a 2-2 draw with Criciuma in midweek. They should put up a fight but ultimately lose.
