Bragantino and Fluminense to both score on Sunday
4585

Sunday evening brings us an early top six clash in the Brazilian Serie A as Bragantino play host to Fluminense at the Estádio Nabi Abi Chedid with a valuable three points at stake for both teams who have made unbeaten starts to the new season and whom played each other in the recent Copa do Brasil.

Bragantino have started well in Serie A as the hosts have registered a 3-0 win away from home at Chapecoense which was followed with a point gained in a 3-3 draw at home with Bahia, to hand Bragantino four points from their opening two matches of the season.

However, Bragantino were dumped out of the domestic cup competition, the Copa do Brasil, by Sunday’s upcoming opponents, Fluminense, by a 3-2 aggregate so Bragantino will be keen to avenge that recent defeat when they entertain Fluminense at their Estádio Nabi Abi Chedid.

Bragantino’s form at home has also been encouraging as the hosts are unbeaten in their last seven matches and goals have also featured, with five of their last seven matches resulting in both teams scoring.

Fluminense have also picked up four points from their opening two matches of the new Serie A season having drawn 0-0 away from home at Sao Paulo before returning home and recording a 1-0 win over Cuiaba.

In between times, Fluminense recorded a 3-2 aggregate win against their Sunday’s hosts, Bragantino, winning 2-0 at home and although they lost 2-1 in the away leg, their vital away goal made the difference and saw Fluminense through to the next round.

Fluminense have also put together a decent run of results in the Brazilian top flight which extends back to the latter stages of last season with the visitors being unbeaten in their last 11 matches overall.

The visitors have also suffered just two defeats in their last 10 matches on their travels which includes four wins with victories achieved at Internacional, Flamengo, Bahia and Ceara, while seven of these last 10 away matches have also seen both teams score.

Both Bragantino and Fluminense have made good starts to this new Serie A season and both look set to score in this Sunday’s clash as they seek to maintain their unbeaten starts in the Brazilian top flight.
