Unless there are any late changes to the fixture schedule, we are set for our first regular 10-match FPL Gameweek for quite some time this weekend.

The transfer deadline for Gameweek 28 is 18:30 (GMT) on Friday, March 12 – an hour and half before Newcastle and Aston Villa kick off the weekend’s Premier League action.

Here are the Gameweek 28 fixtures.

• Newcastle vs. Aston Villa

• Leeds vs. Chelsea

• Crystal Palace vs. West Brom

• Everton vs. Burnley

• Fulham vs. Man City

• Southampton vs. Brighton

• Leicester vs. Sheff Utd

• Arsenal vs. Tottenham

• Man Utd vs. West Ham

• Wolves vs. Liverpool

Of course, the North London derby stands out here, with Tottenham making the short trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal on Sunday.

Before that, champions-elect Man City face a potentially tricky test against rejuvenated Fulham on Saturday, with Wolves and Liverpool wrapping things up on Monday night.

Let’s take a look at the top FPL picks for Gameweek 28.

Goalkeepers

Remarkably, nine goalkeepers kept clean sheets in the previous round, including a rare shutout for Sam Johnstone (West Brom) and a much-needed clean sheet for Alisson (Liverpool).

Sheff Utd remain the lowest scorers in the league, making Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester) in ideal pick this week. Vicente Guaita (Crystal Palace) could also be in line for a shutout, with the low-scoring Baggies visitin Selhurst Park.

Defenders

Aaron Cresswell (West Ham) extended his lead at the top of this season’s FPL defender’s leaderboard in the previous round, keeping another clean sheet for the Hammers. However, Ruben Dias (Man City), Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Man Utd) and Stuart Dallas (Leeds) are all hot in his heels.

Everton defenders could pick up plenty of points this weekend, with toothless Burnley facing the Toffees. It goes without saying that any Man City defender is a good pick at the moment, too.

Midfielders

Despite finding himself on the wrong end of a 5-2 defeat to Man City, James Ward-Prowse (Southampton) managed to accumulate 18 points in the previous round – scoring twice.

Gareth Bale (Tottenham) also added to his growing tally with a brace against Palace, while Jorginho (Chelsea), Mario Lemina (Fulham) and Bruno Fernandes (Man Utd) also reached double figures in Gameweek 27.

With in-form Chelsea coming up against a leaky Leeds backline this weekend, Kai Havertz (Chelsea) is certainly worth considering after bagging an assist on his return to the team against Everton.

Forwards

Harry Kane (Tottenham) scored twice and assisted twice in Spurs’ 4-1 rout of Palace last time out, taking his phenomenal tally for the season to 16 goals and 13 assists in 25 league appearances.

Given that West Brom have the poorest defensive record in the league, the revitalised Christian Benteke (Crystal Palace) could add to his tally this weekend, as could new boy Jean-Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace).

Based on form, Richarlison (Everton) is the second-best forward in FPL right now, behind Kane.
