Premier League Fantasy Football Picks – Round 17

Premier League Fantasy Football Picks – Round 17
3870

With the busy festive period fast approaching, it’s a very important time in the Fantasy Football calendar.

Every transfer counts, so choose wisely when it comes to selecting your picks. To give you a hand, here are a few of the Premier League’s in-form players to consider.

Goalkeeper

Vicente Guaita – Crystal Palace

The Spaniard was a standout performer last weekend after putting in a man-of-the-match performance to keep a clean sheet against Watford. In fact, Crystal Palace have now kept three consecutive clean sheets, and Guaita has played a huge role in maintaining the Eagles’ impressive defensive record.

Defenders

Federico Fernandez – Newcastle United

Newcastle are enjoying a mini-revival at the moment. Steve Bruce’s side have picked up some excellent results in recent weeks, and Fernandez has been at the centre of the action. The defender scored a late winner in the previous round – his second goal of the season.

Virgil van Dijk - Liverpool

With Liverpool up against the league’s lowest scoring team on Saturday, it makes sense to include at least one Reds defender in your team. Klopp has rotated his full-backs of late, so Virgil van Dijk seems like a great pick this week. A clean sheet is on the cards, and the Dutchman is always a threat from set-pieces.

Midfielders

Dele Alli – Tottenham Hotspur

Dele Alli is one of the Premier League’s in-form players right now. He has scored three and assisted two in the four games since Jose Mourinho took charge of Spurs, and after being rested for the Champions League game in midweek, Alli is set to return to the team with a spring in his step.

Jonjo Shelvey – Newcastle United

Shelvey has now scored in three straight games for the Magpies. While Newcastle’s forward-line has struggled for goals, Shelvey has stepped up. Steve Bruce’s side travel to Burnley this weekend, and the Clarets are enduring a poor run. Expect Shelvey to play a starring role again in Round 17.

Forwards

Dominic Calvert-Lewin – Everton

The 22-year-old will be full of confidence after bagging a brace against Chelsea in the previous round. Calvert-Lewin looked like a completely different player under Duncan Ferguson, so we could see him add to his tally against a weak Manchester United defence on Sunday.

Diogo Jota – Wolverhampton Wanderers

With Raul Jimenez regularly taking the plaudits, fellow strike partner, Jota, often gets overlooked. Still, the Portuguese scored twice against Brighton last time out, and he costs far less than his Mexican teammate. Could this be the start of a goal-scoring run for the Wolves man?
