Fantasy Premier League – Top Picks for FPL Gameweek 18
2963
As it stands, there are just five Premier League games taking place in Gameweek 18. Once again, coronavirus concerns are disrupting the schedule.
With ten of the 20 Premier League teams out of action this weekend, a lot of FPL managers will be thinking about using the Free Hit chip.
Here are the five games on the Gameweek 18 schedule.
• Aston Villa vs. Burnley
• Leeds vs. Arsenal
• Wolves vs. Chelsea
• Newcastle vs. Man City
• Tottenham vs. Liverpool
It is important to remember that all of these games are in danger of postponement. Given the ever-evolving situation, you can’t tell what might happen.
Anyway, let’s take a look at some players who could help us to pick up some points in this testing period.
Goalkeepers
There are plenty of great goalkeeper options for this weekend. In fact, the top six highest-scoring keepers in the game are all in action.
Those men are – Jose Sa (Wolves), Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal), Alisson (Liverpool), Edouard Mendy (Chelsea), Ederson (Man City) and Emi Martinez (Aston Villa).
It goes without saying that you should steer clear of selecting a Newcastle goalkeeper. With free-scoring Man City heading to St. James’ Park, things could get messy for the Magpies.
Defenders
Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) picked up 11 points in the previous round, scoring a screamer in the process. Believe it or not, he is owned by only 42.9% of FPL managers.
In Gameweek 17, Romain Saiss (Wolves) and John Stones (Man City) claimed 15 and 12 points, respectively. Takehiro Tomiyasu (Arsenal) and Reece James (Chelsea) were also in the points last week.
If you’re looking for a differential defender, why not try Nelson Semedo (Wolves) or Kieran Tierney (Arsenal)? Both full-backs love to get forward, but they can defend, too.
Midfielders
Kevin De Bruyne (Man City) is back! The Belgian bagged a brace in Man City’s 7-0 thrashing of Leeds, while Riyad Mahrez (Man City), Phil Foden (Man City) and Jack Grealish (Man City) also hit the target.
Jacob Ramsey (Aston Villa) is a great option. The teenager scored a beauty in Gameweek 17 and is owned by just 1.1% of managers.
You should also be considering Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal). The winger has less than 1% ownership and is starting to become an important player for the Gunners.
Forwards
Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) and Armado Broja (Southampton) were the pick of the forward in the previous round, chalking up 12 points apiece.
Broja is out of action this weekend. However, Watkins faces struggling Burnley – having bagged a goal and an assist last time out.
Gabriel Jesus (Man City) and Raul Jimenez (Wolves) could be worth a shot, too.
