Borussia Dortmund Looking to Reignite Their UCL Hopes by Beating Augsburg

Just days on from their memorable Champions League win, Borussia Dortmund are back in action against Augsburg.

Forebet has once again grouped together their probability of winning and taken a look at all the statistics, analysis, data and football predictions for this game.

Despite the glory in the Champions League and a potential spot in the final for the first time in 11 years, Dortmund have struggled tremendously on the domestic front and are having one of their worst seasons in recent memory.

The club should, in truth, had won the Bundesliga title last season, but drew 2-2 with Mainz on the final day of the campaign and instead forfeited the league title to Bayern Munich once more.

This time around, they are down in fifth and behind the league winners Bayer Leverkusen by a stunning 24.

Worse yet, with Dortmund sitting in fifth, this also means they are set to miss out on the Champions League altogether if they fail to get past Paris Saint-Germain and also win the final, if they cannot overtake RB Leipzig in the league.

This gap on fourth spot is now at five points after Dortmund lost away to RB Leipzig in what was the biggest game of the season for the two in terms of getting into the Champions League for next season.

Jadon Sancho did get his third goal since returning to Dortmund to give his side the lead that day, but four goals later kept the Black and Yellow in fifth.

Sancho was the star man in midweek when his side defeated PSG, giving the Ligue 1 giants nightmares all night long in what was a turn back to the former glory days of the Englishman.

Sancho tore the defence apart all game, but it was Niclas Fullkrug who got the goal in the end.

PSG did have an array of chances, but so did BVB. It will be a very interesting game in Paris next Tuesday.

As for Augsburg, they still have slim hopes of a European finish, as they are six points adrift of Eintracht Frankfurt in sixth with nine points left on the table.

It is unlikely, however, but it has still been a much better season for them after a long battle with relegation last year.
