Real Madrid have a great opportunity for revenge for last year's elimination of the tournament. Borussia Dortmund stopped "Los Blancos" on their way to the 10th Champions League title in last season`s semifinals. Now, however, the chances of the Germans to once again defeat Real seem quite slim, considering the large number of injured players in the squad of Jurgen Klopp.
Real Madrid play at a very high level this season, but after two consecutive defeats in La Liga, they are now third in the standings. The domestic league title, however, is deinitely not the main goal for the team. Undoubtedly, everyone in Real Madrid want to put their name into history, winning the 10th of the most prestigious football tournament.
Ancelotti`s players are being superb especially in front of own audience. Real have won 17 games at home this season and were defeated only twice. It is expected that Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale, all three of which are in excellent form, to lead the home side attack. Bale and Benzema definitely meet to the expectations, as Bale recorded 16 goals and 15 assists and Benzema 21 goals and 11 assists.
Borussia Dortmund are also known with their goalscoring abilities and highly offensive football.
Lewandowski, Gündogan, Subotic, Schmelzer, Blaszczykowski and Bender surely miss this meeting. Despite the injury problems, Borussia are among the top 8 teams in Europe and occupy the second position in the Bundesliga. Accordingly, any underestimation of this match by Real Madrid will be punished.
