Swansea City’s form has improved greatly since the appointment of former Chelsea coach Paul Clement as boss. Clement takes his team to Stamford Bridge to face his former club on Saturday in a Premier League game where the visitors will be expected to lose.
The Welsh side have recently escaped the relegation and are now four points clear of the drop zone. The Swans have achieved that by winning three of their last four outings in the top-flight. The exception in that run was a rather unfortunate defeat at Manchester City.
The visitors will feel like the game at the champions is a free swing, as they say. They are not expected to get anything from their trip to the league leaders, who are eight points clear at the top of the table, so they can play with a certain amount of freedom.
However, their recent improvement in form could see them cause the champions elect some problems at Stamford Bridge. The likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Fernando Llorente have hit form of late and will be a threat to a usually solid Blues backline.
Chelsea are a formidable opponent on home soil at the moment, though, having recorded 11 straight wins in all competitions. Antonio Conte’s side have also kept clean sheets in seven of those outings.
At the other end of the field, they are also deadly on home soil, having scored two or more goals in ten of their last 11 games at the Stamford Bridge. Fair to say the Welsh side have their work cut to gain anything from the clash.
Ultimately, Chelsea, are top of the Premier League table with a big points lead for a reason, that reason is that are very effective at both ends of the field. Swansea are likely to cause the Blues problems, but at the end of the game, as Forebet predicts, the leaders are likely to win the game.
