Red Devils to coast to win against Rovers

Blackburn Rovers are enjoying a bit of a nightmare campaign, currently sitting second from bottom in the Championship table. To make matters worse they welcome local rivals Manchester United to Ewood Park on Sunday in the FA Cup fifth round.

Rovers have won just two of their last 13 Championship games, but the FA Cup has come as a welcome distraction to what is fast becoming a season to forget for the north west side. Their home side's form has not been too bad of late, though, as Rovers have suffered just one defeat in their last five home games.

Owen Coyle’s side have seen off Blackpool and QPR in previous rounds of the FA Cup, so they have not faced the toughest of opponents so far in the competition. This clash against United is a completely different ball game.

Jose Mourinho’s side arrives at Ewood Park on the back of three consecutive victories in all competitions. Last time out the Red Devils hammered French side Saint-Etienne 3-0 in the Europa League, with star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring a hat-trick.

The Swedish superstar will be confident of adding to his tally of 23 goals for the season against the Championships third-worse defence.

United’s journey to the fifth round has been a comfortable one, with 4-0 home wins over Blackburn’s fellow Championship sides Reading and Wigan Athletic. The visitor’s recent away form is pretty impressive too, as they have lost just once in their last nine games on the road, recording six victories in the process.

The Red Devils have also been prolific in front of goal in those recent away outings, scoring two or more goals in six of their last nine away outings in all competitions.

Forebet predicts that Manchester United will add to Blackburn’s recent misery by recording a victory at Ewood Park and eliminating Rovers from the competition.
