Roma to get the better of the Viola
Roma will look to bounce back to winning ways in Serie A when they welcome seventh-place Fiorentina to the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday night.
Roma are third in Serie A, but last time out in the Italian top-flight the Giallorossi suffered a 3-2 defeat at Sampdoria. Luciano Spalletti’s side recovered from that loss with a win over Cesena in the Coppa Italia, so the mood in the camp will not be too low.
Roma do now find themselves seven points behind league leaders and champions Juventus and a point behind second-place Napoli. Their form has been general good of late, especially at the Olimpico where the men from the capital have recorded 13 straight Serie A wins.
The Giallorossi have also been prolific in front of goal on home soil in Serie A, scoring at least twice in nine of their last 11 games. This bodes well for goals in this clash, especially as there have been over 2.5 goals scored in eight of the last ten meetings between these two teams in all competitions.
Fiorentina currently sit seventh in Serie A after a five-game unbeaten run in the Italian top-flight. Last time out the Viola recorded a 2-1 win at Pescara.
The visitors have won their last two away games in Serie A, having suffered defeat in their previously three league games on the road. Fiorentina have been prolific of late in Serie A scoring two or more goals in nine of their last 11 outings in the Italian top-flight.
One interesting aspect of this clash is the fact that Fiorentina have won two of their last three visits to the Stadio Olimpico but lost 4-1 on their last trip to Roma.
Forebet predicts that Roma will end Fiorentina’s short unbeaten run and return to second place in the Serie A table.
