Toffees to make things sticky for the Potters

Toffees to make things sticky for the Potters

Everton’s form has transformed in the last six weeks in the Premier League. Suddenly Ronald Koeman’s side are scoring for fun and even look solid in defence once again.

The Toffees good run of form faces a stiff test, though, as the Koeman’s side make the relatively short trip to Stoke City’s Bet365 Stadium on Wednesday night.

Stoke is never an easy place to visit for opposition teams, but Everton have now won four of their last five top-flight outings and are looking like a different team to the one that struggled so badly earlier in the season.

Koeman’s side have also kept clean sheets in all four of those wins. The change to a three-man defence of Ashley Williams, Ramiro Funes Mori and youngster Mason Holgate has made the Merseysider’s far harder to score against.

The visitors are now also three games unbeaten on their travels in the top-flight, a record that will be put to the test in the Potteries.

Stoke are enjoying an inconsistent campaign so far this season. However, results have improved slightly of late, as Mark Hughes side have gone three games unbeaten in the top-flight, recording two wins in the process.

The Potters have a decent home record in the league suffering just one defeat in their last nine outings on home soil in the Premier League. However, they have a tendency to draw a lot of games, with three of their four league games at the Bet365 finishing in draws.

Games at the Bet365 Stadium have been low-scoring affairs of late, with six of Stoke’s last seven games producing under 2.5 goals. The Potters have not been prolific this season, although they have added striker Saido Berahino to their striking ranks and the former West Brom star could make his debut in this clash.

Stoke may be a difficult place to win, but Forebet predicts that the Toffees recent good run of form will extend into this game and they will head home with maximum points.
