RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim to finish all square
Two of the Bundesliga’s surprise-packages go head-to-head at the Red Bull Arena on Saturday afternoon, as RB Leipzig host Hoffenheim.
Both teams have surprised observers and currently sit second and third in the Bundesliga table respectively this season. In fact, RB Leipzig are just three points behind perennial German champions Bayern Munich in the table.
Leipzig have suffered just two defeats this season, but both of those have come in their last four Bundesliga outings. However, in their first game after the winter break, RB recorded a 3-0 home win over top six rivals Eintracht Frankfurt to keep pace with champions Bayern at the top of the table.
A big part of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side success this season in their debut Bundesliga campaign has been their home form. RB are unbeaten at home in the German top-flight, having won seven of their eight matches on home soil, including their last six games.
On home soil the Bundesliga new boys have been on fire in the league, finding the net at least twice in their last six games at the Red Bull Arena.
In many ways, RB’s good campaign has underplayed Hoffenheim’s successful campaign thus far. Julian Nagelsmann’s side are undefeated in their last 17 Bundesliga games, although ten of those games have produced draws.
In fact, the visitors have become the draw specialists of the German top-flight. Their decent record has seen the minnows rise to third in the table, eight points behind their hosts on Saturday. On their travels, Hoffenheim are unbeaten in their last eight games, but again five of those games have been drawn.
Hoffenheim’s games on their travels in the Bundesliga of late have been low-scoring with under 2.5 goals scored in their last four away outings in the German top-flight.
Unsurprisingly considering Hoffenheim’s record for draws this season, Forebet predicts this game will finish in a draw and that the pair’s rivals may be the winners from this clash.
