Manchester United’s recent form has been inconsistent, especially in the Premier League. On Sunday Jose Mourinho’s team welcome struggling West Ham to Old Trafford, as the home side look to get back to winning ways in the English top-flight.

United head into Sunday’s clash on the back of a 4-0 hammering of Dutch side Feyenoord in the Europa League on Thursday. The result was coming, as United’s performances have improved of late.

Mourinho’s side will have been disappointed not to have taken maximum points from the 1-1 draw with Arsenal last time out in the league, though. They were the better team and looked the more likely winner for much of the game. However, Olivier Giroud scored a late equaliser to give the visitors a draw.

United’s home form has been so strong of late, as they have not lost any of their last eight home games at Old Trafford. The Red Devils are also unbeaten in ten home games against West Ham in all competitions.

The Hammers are enduring a difficult campaign and are currently just one point outside the relegation zone. Part of their struggles this season has been their poor away form. Slaven Bilic’s side have lost six of their last seven away games in the top-flight.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is under pressure to engineer a major turnaround or reports suggest he may be heading towards the exit door. Only Hull have conceded more goals than the Hammers in the top-flight this season.

The poor defensive record could be exposed by a United team that has scored in nine of their last ten home outings in all competitions.

Both sides are in need of a victory heading into this clash, for very different reasons. Forebet predicts a home win, which could just kick-start United’s challenge for a top-four place this season.
