Hull’s bright start to the season to finish against United

Hull’s bright start to the season to finish against United

Hull City have defied logic this season so far in the Premier League. Low on players and without a permanent boss, the Tigers have won both their games and looked like a very useful team so far this season.

That good start to the campaign will be severely tested by the visit to the KCOM Stadium of title challengers Manchester United on Saturday.

United under Jose Mourinho have won both their Premier League games so far this season and new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic has bagged himself three goals in the process. The Red Devils are considered one of the favourites to win the title and their summer signings have made the core of their team very strong.

Hull’s interim boss Mike Phelan knows the Red Devils very well having been the club's assistant manager under Sir Alex Ferguson. Phelan will know that his team will have an uphill task attempting to get the better of the visitors.

The task looks even bigger when you consider that the Tigers have faced the Red Devils on eight occasions in the Premier League and suffered defeat seven times. They have failed to beat United in those meetings with the other game finishing in a draw.

Phelan has done a sterling job in helping the Tigers two successive wins, despite the limited playing personnel currently at the club. However, taking something  from a game against a United team containing the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Wayne Rooney looks like a step too far for the side from Humberside.
