Leicester v Arsenal could end all-square

Premier League champions Leicester play their first home game of the season against Arsenal on Saturday evening.

The Foxes were brought back down to earth after their surprise title win last season by an opening day 2-1 loss at top-flight new boys Hull City. The defeat will have been a shock to the system, considering the fact the Foxes lost just twice in the top-flight last season.

Leicester looked vulnerable at the back. The absence of German international centre-back Robert Huth may not have helped their defensive solidity. The former-Middlesbrough star will return in this clash, though.

Arsenal also began their Premier League campaign with a defeat, suffering a 4-3 reverse at home against Liverpool on Sunday. To be fair the Gunners were missing a host of key players and were forced to play inexperienced pair Rob Holding and Calum Chambers at centre-back.

The Gunners will welcome back Laurent Koscielny, Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud into their squad. Koscielny is likely to be restored to the starting line-up, but the other two may only feature from the bench.

To add insult to injury, literally, midfielder Aaron Ramsey and winger Alex Iwobi both picked up injuries against Liverpool that will sideline them for this game. It was a bad day all round for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Neither side produced great performances or results in their opening games. Arsenal was the only team to do the double over Leicester last season in the league. In fact, they were the only team to win at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League.

However, there seems to be a lot of pessimism surrounding Arsenal and new the injuries are not going to help the situation. These two teams may just cancel each other out and produce a score draw.
