Orlando City could suffer another defeat in Vancouver
MLS franchise Orlando City have been on a terrible run of form of late and currently sit 15th in the standings, seven points behind Sunday’s opponents Vancouver Whitecaps and a further point behind the play-off spots.
Their recent poor form saw head coach and former-Everton striker Adrian Heath leave his role after five years in charge of the team. Orlando only made their MLS debut in 2015.
Despite the presence of the likes of former-World Cup winner Kaka, Brazilian forward Julio Baptista and Italian midfielder Antonio Nocerino on their roster Orlando has struggled for results of late and are in desperate need of a victory over Vancouver.
Vancouver have been rather inconsistent of late, but have lost just one of their last nine home games in MLS. That record bodes well for the home side, as Orlando has not picked-up a win on the road in MLS in their seven outings.
Kaka and Co have also conceded at least two goals in their last seven games on their travels. Goals have been a major problem of late for the visitors, as they have failed to score in their last three outings in the American top-flight.
Orlando will be looking to top scorer Cyle Larin to inspire a victory against his compatriots. The 21-year-old scored 17 times last season to win Rookie of the Year and has scored eight times in the current campaign.
However, the youngster has scored just once in his last six appearances. The striker was only a substitute last time out against New York Red Bulls last time out, but could be restored to the starting line-up for this clash.
Even Larin’s presence in the Orlando starting line-up is unlikely to help the Lions record a win against the unpredictable Whitecaps.
