Europa League quarter finals rematch preview (part 2)
The other two Europa League games have their clear favourites to progress further. However, at this stage of the tournament no team should be underestimated.
Villarreal take a 2-1 lead to the Generali Arena where they face AC Sparta Prague. Prague centre-back Jakub Brabec says his side "could have conceded more" in the first-leg and were outplayed. Sparta keeper David Bicik has said "sorry" for his failed clearance that lead to Villareal's opening goal.
The Czech side's manager, Zedenek Scasny will have to lift his side and install belief they can exploit their home advantage to turn things around. Villerreal Forward Cedric Bakambu scored both goals in the first-leg and is full of confidence, saying his team have done "the most important thing" by winning the home leg. He will be looking to add to his seven goals in the competition so far and ensure the Spanish side remain on course for the semi-finals.
Sparta Praha have been amazing at home throughout the entire season, as they still haven't lost a game in front of own audience. This fact makes this clash even more intriguing, as Villarreal have been struggling to reach good away results recently.
Predictions for Sparta Praha - Villarreal CF
The final tie sees Ukranian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk return home to the Donbass Arena with a 2-1 lead over visiting Portuguese side Braga. Donetsk have won their last four games in this competition and are now strong favourites to win this tie.
The omens look bad for Braga who have failed to find the back of the net in three of their last four Europa away games. Donetsk manager Mircea Lucescu will be without central defender Yaroslav Rakitskiy who is suspended after being carded in the first-leg. Braga boss Paulo Fonseca has lost players Rui Fonte and Crislan to injury.
Braga will need to overcome a recent slump in form and score at least two goals on Thursday night to have a chance of progressing to the semi-finals. However, they haven't won any of their last four away games, while Shakhtar are a really strong host. The last time the Ukrainian side lost at home was against Real Madrid and it was a rather tight affair (3-4).
